Staff Specialist – OC Public Works
Jennie Phuong is currently a Staff Specialist for Orange County (OC) Public Works under the OC Operations and Maintenance Unit. Prior to her current position with OC Public Works, she worked for the Auditor-Controller (A-C)’s Office in the Accounts Payable Unit, Payroll Unit, and Property Tax Unit. While she was working at the A-C’s Office, she was the Chair for the A-C Mentorship Program. She has also worked for the OC Public Libraries under OC Community Resources.
Jennie graduated from California State University, Fullerton (CSUF) with a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting and Information Systems. Afterwards, she returned to CSUF to obtain her Master of Science in Information Technology.
Prior to her involvement with VACOC, she served three terms on the CSUF Alumni Association Board of Directors as the Vice President for Programs and as the Vice President for Campus and Community Outreach. She is still involved with the Alumni Association by attending events as her schedule permits to show support. She is also collaborating with the Assistant Vice President of the Alumni Association to establish a Board of Director Alumni Committee. This would allow past board members to stay connected with the association through updates and events. In addition to the Alumni Association, she is a board member on the Center for Leadership – Leadership Alumni Board.
Outside of work, Jennie enjoys spending time with her family and friends, going on adventures, exploring new places, hiking, and volunteering to give back to her alma mater and the community. She also enjoys traveling to Sweden to visit family and exploring the European countries.
