An Pham has over 20 years of investment experience ranging from cash flow & asset-backed C&I loans to distressed/special situation & venture capital securities. He currently leads Cathay Bank’s Middle Market Syndication lending initiative in sourcing new loans and syndicating deals as Agent. His credit background has led to roles as Commercial Banking Team Lead at Banc of California and Senior Credit Executive at MUFG Union Bank overseeing a diverse industry portfolio of consumer products, technology, media, & telecom, financials, transportation, power & utilities, and real estate.
Prior to Commercial Banking, he managed leveraged loan & high yield bond portfolios at Alcentra, a subsidiary of BNY Mellon. Prior to Alcentra, he began his career at BlackRock (fka Merrill Lynch Investment Managers) having completed the credit analyst training program. He has also held positions sourcing venture capital deals for a family office and sales & trading at a boutique investment bank. Mr. Pham received a BA in Economics with a Concentration in Mathematics from Columbia University. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation since 2004.
