Interim Associate Vice President, Office of Government & Community Relations – California State University, Fullerton

Annie Yea is the Interim Associate Vice President of Government & Community Relations at California State University, Fullerton where she provides collaborative leadership in establishing relationships with local, state, federal elected officials and community members for the University. She is responsible for developing strategies and partnerships in order to best advocate on behalf of the University priorities.

Annie joined California State University, Fullerton, with more than 12 years of federal legislative experience on Capitol Hill. As part of the senior staff for three Congressional Members from Southern California, Annie has expertise in navigating the Congressional legislative and budgetary processes as well as working with local and federal stakeholders in order to meet the priorities of the region and for public institutions. During her long legislative tenure, Annie managed the Armed Services and Homeland Security Committees as well as foreign policy issues successfully securing language and funding for various sectors of the region.

Prior to her Congressional career, Annie worked as a Research Specialist for the Center for Naval Analyses engaging in a wide range of national security research and analysis for various federal agencies.

Annie received her undergraduate degree in International Studies from Ohio Wesleyan University and a Master’s Degree in Security Studies from the U.S. Naval War College. Annie was born and raised in Orange County, California.

Immediately after graduating from college she moved to Washington, DC, where she got married and had three children. After 15 years in Washington, DC she and her family moved back to Orange County in 2019.
