John K. Tran is Senior Vice President and Group Manager of Commercial Lending for CommerceWest Bank.

The Commercial Lending group is an origination and portfolio management unit serving middle-market companies with revenues of $5 million to $100 million across a range of industries with credit and non-credit ancillary products.

As the leader of a business with years of history on Southern California, John sets its’ strategic vision and heads a high caliber team.  John began his banking career at Wells Fargo in 2001.  With over 22 years of banking experience, he joined CommerceWest Bank in 2021, leading the company’s commercial lines of business, including Commercial Banking, Commercial Real Estate and Specialty Banking.

Throughout his banking career, he has served small to mid-sized ($5 million to $150 million) companies throughout Southern California and the New York metro area to support his client’s businesses and commercial banking needs.

John serves on the Executive Board of Directors as the Treasurer and is the Finance Chair of the Orange County Children’s Therapeutic Arts Center (OCCTAC). And on the Board of the Vietnamese American Chamber Of Commerce.  He supports the Finance Committee Team with Human Options. In his spare time, John works with Not for Profits and Professional Organizations in Orange County, which includes the Orange County Food Bank, the Asian Business Association of Orange County, and is a Member of the National Vietnamese Leaders Forum.

John earned a business degree from Cypress College.  He is passionate about American and World history and loves to experience various cultures by traveling around the world/his most recent trip was to Thailand and Vietnam.  John currently lives in Orange County with his wife and two beautiful daughters.
