Bekele Demissie

Orange County Transportation Authority

Ethiopian native, Bekele Demissie, has created a successful career to help improve the diversification of the Orange County community. With over 30 years of experience cultivating and maintaining relationships with business, social, civic and community leaders, Demissie makes sure to put in the time to create a positive impact on the community.

Demissie holds both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Management/Administration and Master’s degree from Hope International University.

In his present role as Senior Community & Business Relations Specialists for the Orange County Transportation Authority, Bekele serves as a liaison with public and private organizations, community groups, elected officials, and other public agencies. He has been instrumental in securing and nurturing numerous working relationships that foster community and business development.

None of his past and current roles have stopped Bekele’s dedication to serving the community. Bekele is currently a member, board member or advisory board member of many Orange County Chambers like the Black Chamber of Commerce, Orange County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Korean-American Chamber of Commerce, American Indian Chamber of Commerce, and Asian Business Association, Filipino American Chamber of Commerce etc. and community and faith-based organizations.

Demissie’s time and effort have not gone unnoticed, as he is the recipient of various awards and honors. Some of the recent awards include the Business Advocate of the year award, Martin Luther King’s Community Service Award, Minority Small Business Champion of the year and many more.

Bekele Demissie body of work will not only continue to grow, but it will continue to make a difference in the community now and in the years to come.
